Blog: Bikini or swimming costume?

I have just returned from a gloriously sunny week in Spain. I had packed light, one bikini and one cossie, but when I donned the bikini I didn’t feel good. I wasn’t worried what others thought – I just didn’t feel good. So it was cossie all week.

I had a fab week and wasn’t ready to come back to the UK weather – but now I am back, I need to take action so I feel good in that bikini again!

If you want something to change – do something differently!

Now that I’m home, things are going to change. I have decided to make more time to take care of my health and my body. It won’t happen on its own – I need to take control of my diary and schedule time to get the results I want. It is the same in any business; if you want a different result, take action to make it happen.

I have reviewed how I spend my day (one of the first things I ask my clients to do) and have decided to get up earlier and start my work day a tad later so I can exercise in the morning; also to take a scheduled lunch break to stop me eating when I have a natural break in my work – or get stuck! I recognise this is when I snack and have decided that it’s going to stop!

The key thing here is that I am driven by an inner motivation to do a better job of taking care of myself, so I feel good about myself. If it was an external force driving me, my motivation would wane as it would not be an internal desire spurring me on.

So if you are not happy about something in your life or your business – do something about it until you are. Before you do – make sure you are setting yourself up for success by:

• Ensuring that you have an ‘inner’ drive to succeed
• Having a measurable result so you can track progress and know you when you get there
• Letting others know what you are seeking to achieve so they can help you
• Writing it down!

Based on the above I have no excuse!
